Greetings,
In between crazy June rainstorms, summer is finally attempting to show its fine face these days--at least in Southern Europe. Up in the north, people have joked that their "week of summer" has already passed.
Surely, warmer days are still headed our way and hopefully also vacation time for some which is why I'm very happy to publish the newest report on DO Terra Alta. This is a region in what I call the Deep South of Catalunya where they actually produce more whites than reds - predominantly with White Grenache. Take note though that the whites aren't just for tossing in the ice bucket without a thought as there are some serious wines being produced down there and worth getting to know!
In addition to a number of other news bits and articles you'll hopefully enjoy as much as I did (wine headaches? wine on video?), there's also a bonus, second regional report about DO Calatayud in the south of Aragón. It might be an unknown region for some people out there, but they do make a good deal of wine for export as they're capable of producing quite pleasing Grenache-based wines which are really affordable. Definitely worth having a look at if this is a variety you like.
I do hope all else goes well as we seem to be generally moving in a good direction, at least in several parts of the world.
